l.a. Eyeworks is useful + agreeable...

useful + agreeable (www.ua.tv) design and travel broadband tv and magazine, which was in los angeles recently, features "the great cities of the world and the people who make them great". in each city, u+a has featured leading local icons in design, fashion and other creative disciplines, including their insights into the cities in which they live.

useful + agreeable seeks out subjects who reflect that simple dictum, exhibiting innovation and ideas from which our viewers around the world can derive inspiration.

u+a speaks with l.a. eyeworks founders, gai gherardi and barbara mcreynolds about their early days in eyeglass design and their current ideas; the design of their iconic beverly boulevard store and working with architect neil denari and artist jim isermann; the state of fashion today; the many deaths of melrose avenue and their insights into los angeles, among other things...

l.a. eyeworks is currently nominated for an l.a. fashion award (lafashionawards.com) to be announced on friday, october 20th and are working on several upcoming projects and designs, including a monograph on the legendary l.a. eyeworks ad campaign: "a face is like a work of art. it deserves a great frame." we plan to bring these to you in future issues of useful + agreeable...

we hope you enjoy the feature.

kind regards,
james culham
