The Academy Awards may claim that American cinema is experiencing a revival of the 1970s Golden Age, and for the sake of international relevance, hopefully. However, u+a should point out to the Academy that despite the 30 year lag between American and world cinema, this distance can be closed as soon as next year's Oscar race by considering non-English language films within the Best Film category.
